Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of CREATe: The Clinical Research and Education Alliance for Technology. CREATe is a new international clinical consortium dedicated to advancing neurotechnology research, education, and patient care. With different specialist clinical centres across the globe collaborating on this exciting newalliance, we will provide the structure and momentum needed to improve rehabilitation outcomes for people living with neurological conditions in a truly meaningful way.
For many years, The MiNT Academy and Hobbs Rehabilitation have worked alongside like-minded clinical centres in the UK and internationally, and one thing has become increasingly clear: to ensure advancements across neurotechnology and improve patient outcomes, collective effort is essential. By working together, we can achieve meaningful change across the neurorehabilitation sector.

CREATe formalises this collaboration by creating an official, clinical consortium of specialist centres and a vehicle to progress vital clinical contributions in the field of neurotechnology. We will be able to achieve maximum impact by compiling expertise, resources, and infrastructure, and all members of CREATe will contribute to our mission by:
Collaborating on multi-site clinical trials in real clinical settings
Validating and strengthening one another’s work, with knowledge transfer between institutions, tech companies, and patients
Offering specialised, clinically-led education for healthcare professionals
Standardising data collection frameworks and data pooling
Having shared standards for the ethical, safe, and effective implementation of new technologies, leading to updated clinical guidelines
Through CREATe, academics and industry partners will now have a single entry point into a powerful international network of clinical expertise. Clinicians and specialist centres will be able to join forces to influence technology adoption, research standards, and future clinical guidelines. As a consortium, CREATe hopes to shape the future, and potential, of what neurotechnology can achieve.
CREATe is led by The MiNT Academy, and co-founded alongside Hobbs Rehabilitation (UK), therapy2people (t2p) (Austria), and Centro Europeo de Neurociencias (CEN) (Spain). These founding partners bring extensive experience in neurorehabilitation, clinical innovation, and technology implementation. Their shared ethos reflects a collective commitment to evidence-based practice, global collaboration, and patient-centred advancement.
As announced at MiNT UK 2025, CREATe operates under the umbrella organisation of The MiNT Academy, leveraging its established structure, reputation, and international education platform. This allows for both stability and scalability, while also enabling space for co-leadership with Hobbs Rehabilitation, CEN, and tech2people as the consortium evolves.
Alison Watt, Head of Clinical Operations at The MiNT Academy, shared:
“Throughout my career, I have experienced first-hand how it is essential to work with other like-minded clinical centres to improve neurotechnology opportunities and provision for patients. I am therefore really excited by the opportunity for CREATe to compile resources and collaborate to achieve more. Together, we can advance neurotechnology clinical research and education, support each other's ambitions, and use a wealth of knowledge and experience to create positive change. I have admired the work of CEN and t2p over recent years, and to lead alongside them in the CREATe consortium is a huge privilege.”
José López Sánchez, Co-founder & Director of Centro Europeo de Neurociencias (CEN), added:
"CREATe represents a unique opportunity to unite leading neurorehabilitation centres under a shared vision: accelerating the integration of innovative technologies into clinical practice. By combining research, education, and patient-centred innovation, we aim to transform rehabilitation worldwide and set new standards for evidence-based care."
The potential of CREATe is already beginning to become clear, with interest emerging from partners from all over the world, including the US, Asia, and Australia. As the consortium expands as 2026 progresses, new collaborations, research outputs, and educational initiatives will only further strengthen its global impact.
Through this alliance, we aim to reshape the landscape of neurotechnology - accelerating innovation, strengthening clinical research, and ultimately, improving outcomes for people living with neurological conditions worldwide.
The message is simple:
Together, we can achieve more.

Founded by Hobbs Rehabilitation, the largest independent provider of neurological rehabilitation in the UK with over 100 interdisciplinary clinicians, the MiNT Academy aims to identify and overcome the challenges which limit the implementation of technology into clinical practice and offers clinical consultancy packages, clinical education and clinical trials.Hobbs Rehabilitation was founded in 2005 and offers specialist neurological rehabilitation to adults and children across the south of England, as well as education and clinical research. A team of over 100 clinicians offer physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology and more, in the community and in residential and outpatient clinics. Hobbs are planning to build a 35-bed specialist centre in Winchester which will combine clinical excellence, technology and design, with research and intensive rehabilitation programs, as well as post graduate training, which will be the first of its kind in the UK. Hobbs works with the NHS, insurance companies and the 3rd sector which includes the Injured Jockeys Fund, the Injured Players Foundation of the RFU, the MS Society and Parkinson’s UK.
