Neurotechnology in Clinical Practice: A Hands-On Day in Bristol

Last week, The MiNT Academy delivered its Neurotechnology in Clinical Practice event, which was hosted at the Hobbs Rehabilitation Intensive Neurotherapy Clinic in Bristol.

We welcomed a small group of seven highly engaged health professionals and late-stage students for an immersive day centred on the practical application of neurotechnology in rehabilitation.

The session began with an introduction to Hobbs Rehabilitation and The MiNT Academy, setting the scene for how clinical expertise and emerging technology are being integrated to support patient outcomes. For those looking to build foundational understanding before attending in-person clinical events, our Level 1 online education provides a structured introduction to neurotechnology in rehabilitation and key clinical principles.

From there, attendees moved into hands-on learning, getting up close with a range of neurotechnology currently in use at our Bristol clinic. This same clinical grounding is introduced in our Level 2 online education, which helps learners arrive at in-person sessions with a stronger theoretical framework and greater clinical context.

A key highlight of the day was the opportunity to observe live patient sessions, offering real-world insight into how these tools are applied in practice. Delegates particularly valued the opportunity to observe and engage with real patients in a live setting, with many highlighting the chance to hear firsthand experiences and take part in informal Q&A as one of the most impactful elements of the day. This gave attendees a clearer understanding of both the clinical reasoning behind the use of technology and its impact in a rehabilitation setting.
The small group format allowed for open discussion throughout, with attendees able to engage directly with clinicians, ask questions, and explore the practical challenges and opportunities that come with integrating neurotechnology into clinical workflows.

“We had a great group on the day, with a strong mix of experience and interests that led to really valuable discussions. The smaller format worked well, allowing plenty of interaction, and the live patient sessions were a real highlight in bringing the technology to life.”
